Under the Hood

Technical Architecture

How it works, how it scales, and how it integrates with your platform.

Origin

Why This Exists

This infrastructure has been in development for over three years — before Kalshi launched, before most platforms in the space today existed. It wasn't built to chase a trend. It was built because the person behind it believes that making a public statement about the future and backing it with money is one of the most compelling experiences you can offer a user.

The design objective was never addiction. Not engagement farming. Not maximizing time-on-screen to sell more ads.

The objective was to make this genuinely fun.

There's a difference. Platforms that optimize for addiction engineer dark patterns — infinite scrolls, notification traps, algorithmic outrage. Platforms that optimize for fun engineer relevance. When every market in your user's feed means something to them personally — a team they follow, an event they care about, a question they have a real opinion on — engagement happens naturally.

Speed isn't a feature — it's a requirement. A recommendation that arrives in two seconds is a recommendation that arrives too late. A feed that loads slowly is a feed nobody scrolls. Edge infrastructure, intelligent recommendations, sub-500ms delivery — these exist because great UX demands them.

The intelligence layer doesn't try to hook your users. It tries to understand them — with a single anonymous identifier, no personal data — and surface the markets that genuinely matter to them.

We build in close partnership with our platform clients. Every integration sharpens the infrastructure, surfaces new edge cases, and strengthens the network. This is a product built with conviction — for platforms that want to offer the same to their users.

Core Model

What AnyBid Is

A prediction is a publicly made statement with a binary outcome. You stake money on a side. You wait for resolution. You win or you lose.

How others frame it

"Will Mbappé leave Real Madrid?"

That's a poll. It's passive.

How AnyBid frames it

Sports

"Mbappé signs with a Premier League club before August."

That's a conviction. It demands you pick a side.

Fractionalized Matching Engine

You don't need one counterparty with $100. Ten people with $10 fills the market. Our on-chain matching engine fills positions fractionally — liquidity builds naturally as conviction grows on both sides.

Dampened Odds Movement

Odds shift gradually as conviction accumulates. The dampening mechanism prevents short-term manipulation and flash swings. Markets reach strong ratios through genuine conviction, not algorithmic exploitation.

One Market Per Prediction

Each unique prediction exists once across the entire network. No duplicates. No fragmented liquidity. When your platform creates a market, every partner platform can surface it. Liquidity compounds.

Resale — Not an Exit

Positions are commitments. There's no exit button. But life happens — so we built a resale mechanism. Think of it as selling a betting slip. The conviction model stays clean.

Content Layer

The Unified Feed

Your platform gets a single feed containing every market relevant to your users.

Native Conviction Markets

Built on AnyBid infrastructure, peer-to-peer, fully auditable. These are your primary revenue source. Your platform earns fees on every position taken.

Aggregated External Markets

Polymarket, Kalshi, and future platforms pulled into the same feed with odds recalculated into formats your users understand. Additional revenue on inventory you didn't create.

Smart Categorization

Every market is embedded, vectorized, and categorized into 30 content tags. Your platform selects which categories to display. A sportsbook picks Sports, Entertainment, Esports. A celebrity gossip app picks Culture, Awards, Reality TV.

Blacklisting handles hard boundaries with semantic understanding. Our engine understands meaning, not just keywords — "NFL expansion to London" passes as sports, while "The next President will legalize sports betting" correctly identifies as political.

How Embedding Works

Picture a massive room where every word that exists floats in 3D space. Words aren't random — they're pulled toward others by meaning. "Quarterback," "touchdown," and "Super Bowl" drift into the same cluster. "Grammy," "album," and "Billboard" form another one nearby. "Senate vote" and "filibuster" are on the other side of the room entirely.

Now scale that room to 768 dimensions and replace single words with entire market statements. "Will the Lakers win the NBA Finals?" lands right next to "Will LeBron win MVP?" — but far away from "Will the next UK Prime Minister be Labour?" The geometry does the thinking.

That's how our engine knows a user who bets on NBA markets probably cares about NFL draft picks and ESPN gossip — but not parliamentary elections. No magic. No black boxes. Algebra and geometry at scale.

Architecture

Three Services, One API

We treat your frontend as an empty shell. Everything is delivered via API. Your brand, your UX, your design — we power what's behind it.

Average Settlement

Execution Layer

Account abstraction — every user ID maps to a unique wallet. Non-custodial by architecture. Defense-in-depth security.

  • Fractionalized matching engine
  • Automated multi-source oracle settlement
  • Full on-chain audit trail
  • Users never see wallets or gas fees
  • Non-custodial by architecture

Use what you need. You don't have to adopt all three services. Build your own transaction layer and use our Market Intelligence and Metadata as read-only feeds. Or use the full stack. The API is modular — pick the services that fit your architecture.

Integration

Two Ways to Integrate

Every platform is different. Some want full control. Others want to launch fast. We support both — same backend, same infrastructure, same security model.

Build It Yourself

Headless API

Your engineering team builds the frontend. AnyBid is pure infrastructure behind your API. Your design system, your user flow — we're invisible to your end users.

  • Complete control over the experience
  • Server-to-server integration
  • Lightweight event tracking SDK
  • Open-source Companion App included as reference implementation

We Build It For You

Companion App

A standalone branded web application deployed and managed via our dashboard. predictions.yourbrand.com — your logo, your colors, your authentication system, our infrastructure.

  • Deployed and configured via dashboard
  • Uses your platform's auth system
  • Production-ready — battle-tested and near-perfect
  • Open-source codebase — inspect every line

Start Fast, Go Deep

These aren't mutually exclusive. Start with the Companion App, learn what your users want, then migrate to a fully custom frontend when ready. The backend doesn't change. Only the frontend layer.

Identity

How User Identity & Wallets Work

We never see your users. We don't want to. Your platform manages user identity — authentication, profiles, personal data, all of it stays on your side.

1

Partner sends anonymous ID

Your backend sends us a single anonymous identifier. No email, no name, no personal information crosses the boundary.

2

AnyBid creates wallet

That anonymous ID maps to a unique wallet in our system. One ID, one wallet. That's the entire user model.

3

Everything on-chain

Every action tied to that wallet is recorded on-chain. Your compliance team can verify any user's full transaction history independently.

Infrastructure

A Global Mesh. Your Dedicated Edge.

Every client gets their own edge nodes. Every edge node strengthens the network. Your platform always has priority on its own infrastructure — the mesh just makes everyone faster.

Local Latency

Your Dedicated Edge

Each client deploys minimum 2 edge nodes close to their users. All read-heavy operations served locally: feeds, odds, outcomes, recommendations, semantic search, media content. Your edge serves your traffic with priority — always.

The Passive Network

Every edge node participates in the global AnyBid mesh — a passive infrastructure spanning 6 continents. Nodes buffer traffic spikes, sync shared market data, and distribute intelligence updates. Intelligent routing strengthens the entire network as it grows — without any client losing priority rights on their dedicated edge.

Network grows. Your edge gets stronger. As new clients deploy edge nodes, the global mesh gains capacity, redundancy, and intelligence. Routing gets smarter. Failover gets faster. No coding required — select your regions in the dashboard, we handle provisioning. Content and intelligence run on edge. All financial operations run on separate, isolated infrastructure.

Trust Layer

Why Blockchain — And Why Users Never See It

We use blockchain as a source of truth. Not because of ideology — because it gives your platform an immutable audit trail that no internal database can replicate.

Invisible to Users

Account abstraction means the entire blockchain layer is invisible. Users place predictions, check odds, collect payouts — all through your interface. They never see a wallet, sign a transaction, or encounter a gas fee.

Defense-in-Depth

Each user's wallet is an isolated security boundary. Compromise one account and the blast radius is limited to that account's balance. No central pool to drain, no single database to breach.

Independently Verifiable

Every transaction, resolution, settlement, and payout recorded on-chain. Your compliance and audit teams can verify independently — without us and without exposing user data.

Chain-Agnostic by Design

All transactions settle in USDC — gas fees are handled via ERC-4337 paymasters, so there are no native tokens to manage. Our API aggregates markets from every source: providers on Polygon, Base, and our own settlement layer. Your integration hits one endpoint. Which chain or protocol backs a given market is our problem, not yours.

Network

The Network Effect

This is why the B2B model matters — and why early integration is strategically valuable.

Markets Compound

Every platform that joins adds markets, liquidity, and behavioral signal. A niche prediction created on your platform gets surfaced to users on partner platforms. Their participation adds liquidity to your market.

Community Compounds

Comments and discussion are shared across all platforms that surface a market. Users see perspectives from the entire network — the conversation is richer than any single platform could generate alone.

One market per prediction.

No duplicates across platforms. No fragmented liquidity. Liquidity flows to a single source of truth. The earlier your platform integrates, the more your markets benefit from every subsequent platform that joins.
